Hi!
I’m Robyn.
Design Director, Art Director and creative based in Sydney, living with my partner and our two small humans, Archie and Arlo.
I’ve always been a creator. My began in a tiny surf-town high school in New Zealand, where I fell hard for graphic design, technical drawing, painting and illustration. That curiosity led me to a Bachelor of Graphic Design (Visual Communication), and soon after, across the ditch to Sydney, where I cut my teeth in digital advertising and discovered the thrill of big ideas.
My early agency years at Y&R, Leo Burnett, and M&C Saatchi shaped me deeply. I transitioned from design into art direction, animation, and illustration, working on telco brands like Telstra and Optus — back when Flash ruled the internet (it truly was a time).
Young(ish) and craving adventure, I packed up and moved to Paris. There, I fell in love with the stunning craft, culture, and not just future, but nostalgic thinking. We somehow convinced BETC Euro RSCG to take a chance on a Kiwi with a part-Aussie accent. Briefings in English, followed by French, became my new normal.
5 years later, a fun weekend trip to London turned into a pivotal chapter at Imagination London. Leading a team across global and Shell accounts, I worked across Europe and the South Pacific on large-scale experiential projects, Future Festival, Eco-Marathons, and World Gas Conferences in Paris. High-vis, airports, event adrenaline, and some truly unforgettable work.
The next stop was the US, joining Spinifex Group LA as Associate Creative Director. There, I collaborated on global brands including Honda, Acura, IBM, Lexus and Elton John, working closely with George P. Johnson to deliver major experiences at CES and International Auto Shows. From early ideation and client presentations through to design, animation direcion, build, installation and technical calibration, I was hands-on from start to finish.
In 2018, after more than 8 years abroad, I returned home to Sydney. I freelanced with agencies including Imagination, Spinifex, CHE Proximity, ARQ and Start Beyond, delivering 4D VR experiences, brand systems, visual communications and digital work. I later joined Grumpy Sailor, where our pitch wins included the FIFA Women’s World Cup and significant community spaces such as Yirranma Place, collaborating closely with environmental designers and partner agencies to bring these projects to life.
Now with our family complete, I’ve taken the time to get clear on what truly lights me up: Making awesome things with awesome people.
These days, you’ll find me doing just that. Hands-on, curious, using AI, working with value-led, agencies like INVNT & Jane Doe, and others who care deeply about craft and culture.
If you’re still reading here and anything resonates, I’d love to hear from you!
